Background
Korian and Takamaa Solar Parks comprise three projects in Kouvola around Koria Substation and the open fields of Takamaa.
The project areas are as follows:
– Takamaa: Approximately 130 MWp, about 169 hectares.
– Kuusela: Approximately 40 MWp, about 58 hectares.
– Karisuo (formerly Karjusuo): Approximately 50 MWp, about 70 hectares.
Land lease negotiations have been conducted with interested landowners in 2022-2023. After this, discussions have commenced with the City of Kouvola and other authorities regarding the implementation of the projects.
For all projects, the goal is to progress to the permitting phase in the autumn of 2023. Construction could begin in 2024, and the preliminary start of commercial production is targeted for 2025.
Management and Operations
Upon completion, the high-quality technical and commercial management of the solar park will be overseen by Ilmatar’s subsidiary, Ilmatar Service Oy.
