Background
Ilmatar Offshore plans to build and operate offshore wind power in two areas north of Åland, identified as suitable in the Åland Maritime Spatial Plan. Stormskär is the largest of these, and it is also located in the far north.
The wind farm is named after Stormskär, one of the 6 700 islands in the Åland archipelago.
Status
Seabed survey ongoing, expected to be completed in early 2023.
