Ilmatar is growing steadily and thus needs to invest even more strongly in communications, marketing, and sustainability.
Ilmatar Energy Oy has appointed M.Sc. (Diplomacy) Vilma Wiitakorpi-Björkman as Vice President, Communications, Marketing and Sustainability and a member of the Executive Team. Wiitakorpi-Björkman has an extensive background and expertise in communications for international, Finnish-listed companies. Before moving to Ilmatar, she has been responsible for Helen Group’s communications. She will start at Ilmatar on April 11, 2023.
– Since Ilmatar is growing rapidly and the energy sector is constantly changing, we need to invest even more robustly in communications, raising awareness and sustainability. As the company grows, the importance of these will grow, and more will be expected of us in this regard. It’s great to have a skilled professional joining us with experience in similar tasks, both within the energy sector and outside of it, says Juha-Pekka Weckström, CEO of Ilmatar Energy Oy.
Wiitakorpi-Björkman is experienced in developing the communications unit into a central part of the company to support the strategy implementation. In addition, she knows the different aspects of brand management and sustainability inside and out. She has a strong, successful track record of working with both listed and family-owned companies, as well as municipal entities. Wiitakorpi-Björkman has previously worked at Helen, Uponor, Ensto and Kemira, among others.
