As a PPA Originator/Manager at Ilmatar, you will play a pivotal role in managing our PPA portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be to negotiate and close long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for solar and wind power, engaging with both domestic and international companies utilizing renewable energy. The success of this role is integral to securing new investments and ensuring their profitability as our energy production surges in the near future.

To excel in this position, you must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders. We expect you to be a team player, an adept organizer, and a skillful networker. Your persuasiveness and proactivity will be instrumental in propelling our strategic objectives forward. With colleagues located across various offices in Finland and Sweden, you have the flexibility to choose your preferred work location.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and actively reaching out to potential clients
  • Conducting negotiations, drafting contracts, and finalizing agreements
  • Participating in public tenders and preparing tender proposals
  • Acquiring market insights and materials and presenting recommendations to management
  • Collaborating internally with investment preparers and asset management teams
  • Expanding and nurturing an external network of partners
  • Developing general PPA-related skills and raising awareness of PPAs

We are looking for:

  • Proven experience and a track record in solution sales for large-scale projects
  • A proactive and goal-oriented approach to sales activities
  • Proficiency in negotiation, especially in challenging scenarios
  • Strong aptitude for customer interaction and a sound understanding of contractual matters
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and networking abilities
  • Prior experience in PPA contracts or similar intricate, long-term agreements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of renewable energy generation, energy markets, and various electricity generation methods
  • Proficiency in English, fluent Finnish considered a valuable asset
  • Relevant education, such as an MBA, MSc
