Solar Procurement Manager

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to our strategic sourcing who would take a lead on key component procurement for solar business. In this brand-new position, you will be responsible for the end-to-end strategic procurement in a rapidly growing global business. Your role will involve working with internal and external stakeholders, and a wide range of global suppliers in order to drive value and commercial solutions for Ilmatar.

To thrive in this role, we expect you to be a commercially minded person who has been working with large scale industrial projects (preferably solar) for at least 5 years. Main responsibilities

  • Establish and develop relationships with key suppliers (PV modules, mounting structures, installation suppliers, transport suppliers)
  • Manage tenders for both evaluation and selection of suppliers
  • Lead negotiations, complete price agreements, and implement framework agreements with key suppliers with the help of Ilmatar’s legal team
  • Working as a key member of the project investment team and collaborate with Ilmatar project development on current and future projects
  • Actively investigate for new products, new technology, and progress with new supplier on-boarding and qualifications
  • Ensure timely delivery of the supplier’s deliverables to meet solar projects’ needs, actively engage with Ilmatar’s Construction team to ensure lessons learned and constant improvement
  • Develop and implement processes and structures in Procurement & Supply Chain Management

What we expect from you

  • A commercial or technical degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.)
  • Understanding of the industrial scale solar panel markets, global raw material markets and the impacts of those to the solar panel business
  • Experience in establishing supplier relationships and understanding of the importance of supplier relations
  • Experience in developing procurement processes and at least a basic understanding of the technology (PV plant components)
  • Experience on Chinese supply chain & suppliers is seen as an advantage
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of related contracts
  • Fluency in English is required. Swedish, Finnish and Chinese are an advantage
