After 1.5 years of investigations, the application for Sweden's currently largest planned solar cell park has been completed and submitted for environmental review to the County Administrative Board in Östergötland. The company’s new headquarters can be found in one of the most recognizable landmark buildings in the city, the "Sugar Cube," a building designed by Alvar Aalto, located in Katajanokka at the address Kanavaranta 1, 00160 Helsinki. In November 2023, Ilmatar announced an investment decision related to the Korpilevonmäki wind project in Säkylä, South-West Finland. Korpilevonmäki wind farm consists of six modern wind turbines with a total nominal capacity of 38.4 megawatts (MW) and it is expected to be operational by 2025. The Finnish Wind Power Association (Suomen Tuulivoimayhdistys, STY) announced on 2 January that year 2023 was the second busiest year in history for wind power construction in Finland, measured by the number of turbines. All the 36 wind turbines in Ilmatar’s first hybrid park in Alajärvi have been commissioned for commercial production. The wind turbines are a part of the unique 370-megawatt hybrid complex where Ilmatar is also planning to build a significant scale solar farm and energy storage solution. Read More
Ilmatar has once again initiated a new wind power production complex for commercial operations. The Västervik and Isokeidas wind farms are generating renewable energy with 14 turbines, totalling nearly 87 megawatts (MW) of nominal capacity.
