Background
The Bothnia offshore wind project is located in the middle of the Bothnian Sea, in Finland’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) about 100 kilometres off the west coast of Finland. The project is divided into two areas, Bothnia and Bothnia West, covering 685 and 488 km2. During project development, the area has been optimised and thus reduced as shown on the map, where the larger marking shows the area where an exploration permit has been granted.
